LCES Weekly Update 9/16/22
LCES Families,
Thank you all for such a wonderful week at LCES. We have 100% of our Accadiance Reading testing done. Thank you all for making sure your student was in school for this important testing. The beginning of year scores will be shared with you at conferences in October.
Did you see the beautiful snow on the peaks this week? As the weather gets cooler, please be sure to send your child with gear to go outside everyday. We recommend a coat, hat, and gloves–soon, your student should also have snow boots. Thanks so much for helping your child come prepared.
Homecoming Week is this Week!
HOWLs Update:
LCES is using HOWLs dollars to award good behavior. These dollars are awarded for any of our Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLs): Collaboration, Respect, Responsibility, Craftsmanship, Compassion, Perseverance, Curiosity, and Creativity. Last week the first graders got to shop at the store school to purchase items using their HOWLs dollars. Next week, it will be the 2ndgraders’ turn. Encourage students to continue to show outstanding HOWL behavior.
September Attendance Challenge!
For the month of September we will be having our September attendance challenge. Our district attendance goal is 92%. The class with the best attendance for each grade level will receive an extra recess with Mrs. Lovely and Mr. Lenhard. Please try to send your student to school every day, unless they are too sick. We appreciate your help in reaching our 92% attendance goal!
Mark Your Calendars:
- September 19-22: Homecoming Week
- September 22nd: LCES will have a float be in the Parade. Come join us with your student.
- September 29th: Community Meeting in the gym from 8:15-8:40. Parents are encouraged to attend. We will be honoring our students of the month for the habit of collaboration.
Again, thanks for a great week. Please reach out any time if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Katie Pongrekun
LCES Principal
